Instructions for authors
Tutorials in Quantitative Methods for Psychology publishes original peer-review articles. Potential contributors should consult the Journal Guidelines to determine if a manuscript is suitable for Tutorials in Quantitative Methods for Psychology. If a tutorial on a similar topic has already been published in TQMP, motivate in your cover letter why a second paper should be considered by the editorial team.
All submitted manuscripts must conform to the following guidelines:
Manuscript must be submitted in English.
Manuscript must be submitted in PDF, Word or LaTeX format.
Manuscripts (including text, tables, and references) must be formatted in 12-point font, be double-spaced, and have left-justified margins. The page size must be set at 8½ x 11 inch paper size (US Letter).
Tables must be created with a table editor (i.e., do not use spaces to create tables). Equations must be edited using the Word equation editor, MathType or be available in Tex or Latex.
Manuscript must be submitted as an email attachment to the editor <cousineau.denis@tqmp.org>. Name the manuscript "yourlastname.doc". Submit other materials (data sets, listings…) simultaneously.
All manuscripts must employ correct grammar, syntax, and punctuation.
Otherwise, manuscripts should conform to style requirements of The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 5th Edition. Failure to conform to these guidelines will result in the editor returning the manuscript to the author without an external review.
Once validated by the editor, the manuscript is sent to 2 or 3 reviewers. The primary focus of the evaluation is the clarity of the presentation and how well someone could execute the method(s) on his or her own data set.
The whole review process requires 8 to 10 weeks. Our current rejection rate is 18%.
If accepted, there is a lag of 8 to 12 months before publications.
